Valentine Celebration Catch Up

Bryson was with his dad on Valentine's weekend, so we celebrated the Monday after Valentine's Day. We started off with a fancy dinner that included paper plates, plastic cups, and pizza.

After dinner we opened gifts.  Bryson got a cool glow in the dark basketball, a Pokemon card holder with cards, and a minion heart shaped box filled with gummy candy.

Hallie got a Princess Jasmine wig that I bought on clearance at target for 4.98, regular 14.99.  Score!!  She also got Jasmine pajamas and a heart shaped Frozen container filled with jelly beans.

I got hubby a mandalin book and CD that he has been wanting.  Hubby sent me flowers at work.  He also got me a gift certificate for a pedicure.  He knows the way to my heart.

After playing with their new gifts for awhile, the kids opened their cards from mamaw and papaw.

After opening gifts and playing, we watched some television in the presence of Princess Jasmine.

It was a perfect night filled with lots of love!

Friday Favorites

Hello Friday, I welcome you with open arms!!

The thing I love most about reading blogs is finding new things to try....new products, new recipes, new workouts, new crafts, etc.  I thought I'd share some blog find favorites.

Julie over at Peanut Butter Fingers wrote a post about her love for rosehip seed oil.  I'm definitely in need of a better facial regimen.  I started using rosehip seed oil last week.  I haven't seen any noticeable changes in dark spots yet.  I'm sure it will take some time.  However, it has been a great moisturizer.  I love the way it makes my skin feel.

Holly at While I'm Waiting got me hooked on the Bitmoji app.  Seriously, check it out!  It's so much fun.  After you download the app, you design your avatar.  I probably spent way too much timing doing this.  I would pick an eye shape, lip shape, or some other feature and then ask Bryson if it looked like me.  I've been having lots of fun texting friends and family.

If you want longer, thicker hair you must try It Works! Hair Skin Nails.  After having Hallie, I lost a lot of hair, and it never grew back.  I desperately wanted my hair to be thicker.  I got with Amy at Little Bits of Our Life to order some It Works.  This stuff does work people!  Below is comparison pictures of me.  And this was only after 2 weeks use!

I've read about Cara Cara on a couple of blogs recently.  Unfortunately, I cannot remember which blogs.  I have been enjoying one of these everyday for the last week.  They are delicious!  My only complaint is they don't peel as easily as the cuties mandarins.  But oh, the taste is so worth it.

Couponing to Disney mentions a deal going on right now for a Sam's Club membership.  I actually don't have a Sam's Club membership, but it's been something I have been interested in.  It looks like now might be a good time to join.  So, tell me.  Is a Sam's Club membership worth it?  What do you buy at Sam's?

What are some of your recent blog finds?  Happy Friday!  Hope it's a great weekend.

Oh Pinterest...How I Love Thee

Pinterest is the best thing since sliced bread.  It is a heaven sent to this non creative momma.  I first discovered Pinterest shortly after having Hallie.  I spent a lot of late nights and early mornings feeding her and scrolling Pinterest at the same time.  I have over 13,000 pins to show for it.  I told you, lots of nights and mornings.  Homegirl didn't sleep through the night until 18 months.

I have tried several pins.  Here are just a few.

For Father's Day 2014, I used this fish hand craft as inspiration to make hubby a shirt.

I used fabric paint and fabric markers.  Hubby loved the shirt.  I'm thinking we may need to make a new one this year.  He wears it to sleep frequently, and it's started to fade.

The hubby is such a great sport when it comes to projects/crafts I find on Pinterest that I want him to help with.  I fell in love with this pallet cross.

This is our version.  I like it, but I think I need to switch the thread colors.  I went with black, red, and white to be symbolic, but I just don't think it pops.

And seeing my fireplace picture reminds me that I still have a fireplace project to do.   My Fireplace board is filled with tons of inspiration.

I have made this recipe the most out of all the recipes I have pinned.  It's simple, easy, and delicious.  It's a must try.

I love using Pinterest to help in vacation planning.  We are a Disney loving family and have been several times.  My Disney board definitely gets the most love with over 1,700 pins.

Other vacation boards include the beachDisney cruise, and Gatlinburg.  We are planning a trip to Dallas and Great Wolf Lodge this summer.  I would love any pin suggestions!

Weekend Moments

Valentine festivities started Friday morning with Hallie's classroom party.  It was so cute.  They had a silly sock hop where they danced to 50's songs in their socks.

Looking all cute in the paper plate Valentine hat she made.

When I picked up Bryson, he came out carrying his bag he made at school.  It's a barfing Valentine.  Too funny!  I'll just enjoy these days because I'm sure not ready for him to have a special person on Valentine's.

David picked up Hallie from school and stopped at Walmart for her to pick me up a gift. She picked out some flowers, a balloon, and a little heart filled with candy. I had a good laugh because the flowers looked pretty pitiful. They were falling apart and dying. David said he tried to get her to pick out different ones, but she wanted these particular flowers because it had a few lilies that had not opened up yet. Honestly, I could care less what the flowers look like. I'll take anything my little girl wants to give me.

Saturday morning we headed to Bryson's basketball game.  I just love watching him play.  His coach said he is doing awesome on defense.  I'd have to agree :)

His last game is this weekend, and I'm pretty sad about that.

After the game, we dropped off Hallie at my parents so David and I could enjoy a little lunch date. I was little disappointed in my steak. It was overcooked. I'm not one that likes to complain about food when going out, but when a steak is $30, it should be cooked right. I got a new one cooked, and it was perfect. They also did not charge us for the steak. That's great customer service. And this lovely piece of cheesecake was perfection.

After eating, we went to get David a new cell phone and switch carriers.  We will be saving over $100 a month with the switch.  I just hope we are happy with the service.  We picked up Hallie and spent the rest of the evening chilling at home.

Sunday morning I was scheduled to work in children's church.  I went to Walmart on the way to church to pick up some of those Valentine conversation hearts for a few games.  I turned the corner and was shocked that the Valentine isle was now the Easter isle.  Luckily, I was able to find a small section of Valentine candy that had been moved across the store.

After church we headed to our favorite Mexican restaurant and this cutie posed for me.

And when our favorite server saw her posing, he insisted she get a picture with the sombrero.

The rest of the day was low key.  I spent some time creating a playlist for my spin class on Monday while Hallie said "watch me" every 15 seconds while attempting cartwheels.  I'm thinking I need to sign this girl up for gymnastics.

I'm looking forward to Monday evening.  Bryson will be coming home, and we can finally have our family Valentine's celebration.

Friday Favorites

Yay for Friday!!  I'd have to say that my favorite is that Hallie is starting to feel better and this weekend appears to have more sleep in the schedule than last weekend.  We went to the doctor on Monday, and she still looked adorable, sick and all.

And with Valentine's coming up, she has been sporting some of my favorite heart apparel.

I stopped by a favorite local gift store this week.  Unfortunately I didn't find what I was looking for.  However, this kitchen towel made me giggle.  #givemeallthebacon

This week, we celebrated my favorite 18 year old, my beautiful niece.  She is an absolutely amazing young lady.  Her love and desire for God is unbelievable, and I can't wait to see where that takes her.

And she is one of Hallie's favorite people.  Hallie is always attached to her side when she's around.

And I had a good little laugh when I looked around and noticed the older people where the ones with their phones out at the dinner table.

Something happened this week that I am sure will be a favorite for Bryson.  I contacted one of my bosses and a coworker in our Oklahoma office and told them I was looking to buy tickets to an OKC Thunder game for Bryson's birthday.  My boss asked which game, and I told him which one worked best for us.  Well, he gave us 4 tickets for club level....FOR FREE.  Do what?!  Seriously, so excited.  Bryson is going to flip.  Now to find a hotel and all the good places to eat.

I'm looking forward to this weekend.  David and I don't have any big plans for Valentine's Day.  I like to do something the week after to avoid the crowds.  But I do have a few surprises for him and the kids that I hope will be a favorite for them.

Happy Friday!  Hoping it's a great Valentine's weekend for all.

Weekend Moments

Friday afternoon started with a large chocolate milkshake to share with my favorite boy.  I'm off on Fridays, and it's the only day I pick him up from school.  I stop by Sonic before picking him up, so we can enjoy a shake on the way home.  I'm not complaining about this new tradition.

Friday was Razorback Red at school for Hallie. She supported our hogs with her shirt and made a matching hat at school.  She practiced calling the hogs. Sad to say, I think she needs some more practice, but it was hilarious to watch.

We attended church Friday night for a prayer conference.  I was scheduled to work with the kids and had to come up with a memory verse game.  It still may be too early for Easter, but it's never to early to use the eggs in a game :)

Hallie started coughing Friday night and it lasted ALL night long.  I pretty much rocked her all night.  If I tried to lay her down she would cough non stop.  Even rocking her upright, she coughed a bunch.  It was like going back to newborn days and not getting any sleep.  This just confirmed that I'm okay with not having anymore babies haha.

Saturday morning we headed to Bryson's basketball game.  Hallie was still congested and coughing, but girl was acting like she had a full nights sleep.  How do kids do that!?!  I was walking around like a zombie.

After the game we headed to the mall for some lunch and a little play time.

Later that day I tried to get a picture of Bryson.  Sometimes I feel bad because I have tons more pictures of Hallie than Bryson.  I promise I love them both the same.  Bryson's just a preteen boy that mostly complains about having to take a picture.  I sat down and started chatting with him.  I tried to inconspicuously take a picture.  It was a total fail.  He said, I can see the reflection of your phone in your glasses.

I guess the Friday and Saturday sleepless nights finally caught up to sister.  She normally gets up very early, no matter what time she goes to sleep.  She was still sleeping Sunday morning at 9:00.  I decided we would skip church, and she could catch up on some much needed sleep.  Plus, I started feeling bad on Saturday.

Sunday was low key for us.  Buster intensely watched the puppy bowl.  He goes crazy nuts anytime he sees dogs on t.v.  We sort of watched the Super Bowl.  It was on, but we were all doing other things at the same time.  I made sure to park it on the coach for the half time show.  I puffy heart love Bruno Mars and seeing him just makes me want to go to another one of his concerts.

It wasn't a terrible weekend.  It could always be worse, right?  However, it could have been much better with a healthy clan.
