Nashville Recap Part 3

On Saturday we went to Disney on Ice - Frozen.  Hallie has a real nice Elsa crown from the Disney store, but she insisted on wearing the cheap plastic crown, probably from the Dollar Store.  Oh well, the Queen knows what she wants...haha.  She was in a horrible mood due to the lack of naps the couple of days before.  She refused to look at me and take a smiling picture #threenager.  I managed to snick a picture while she was drinking her overpriced snowcone.

And to keep from hearing her constant whining, we let her stuff her face with overpriced cotton candy #keepinitreal

Once the show started, she was in a much better mood.

Bryson thought he was too old cool to attend Disney on Ice.  After the show, he did admit that it was pretty awesome.

After the show, we headed back to the in-laws house.  I struggled to get the worst sleep ever Hallie to to take a nap.  She finally caved, thank goodness.  She woke up in a much better mood.  Hubby and I had a little date night while the in-laws watched the kids.  We went to the Chop House.  I was not impressed.  Then, we enjoyed a little shopping.

Sunday morning we headed out around 9:00.  Bryson requested Mexican for lunch.  I used Yelp and Urban Spoon to find what was nearby.  We stopped at El Amigo Feliz in Hazen, AR.  I ordered a coke, and the waitress informed me that they only have Mexican coke.  So, I got to experience my first Mexican coke.  I couldn't really tell much difference from the American coke.

The kids were being rambunctious trying to burn off some energy.  Thank goodness there was a football game on.  The kids weren't any louder than the spectators yelling at the TV.

Hallie insisted on putting her Elsa dress on before hitting the road again.  Hey, whatever makes the trip easier, more quite, and less whining.

We got home around 6:00.  We had an awesome weekend, but we were ready to get back into our own beds.

Nashville Recap Part 2

On Friday we decided cross off one of the activities on our fall bucket list and visit one of the local pumpkin patches. I found a few we were interested in visiting. We narrowed it down to Lacky Ladd Farms based on pictures on their website and facebook page and the driving distance. This pumpkin patch did not disappoint. There were tons of activities for the kids. And we nearly had the place all to ourselves since we went during the day on Friday when the local kids were in school.

The kids enjoyed feeding all the animals.

Bryson trying to get a picture with the turkey, but a little too scared to take his eyes of him.

Bryson wasn't too thrilled to ride the pony, but he'll do anything for his sister.

Just having a conversation with the worker about horse poop.  #nofilter

 Having fun swinging with Mamaw.

The kids zoomed down the slide.  Hallie's feet were flying in the air.

Papaw pushing Bryson on the tire swing.

The bouncing thing was perfect for a little girl that has way too much energy.

The kids enjoyed a hayride.  Well, technically it wasn't a hayride because there wasn't any hay.

 Hallie enjoyed some seesaw.

Bryson made corn angels.

Bryson riding another ride to make his sister happy.  He's such a good brother.

Lucky Ladd Farms was a blast!  We ended the trip going through the corn maze, but I didn't get any pictures.  I'm so glad we picked this pumpkin patch!

Nashville Recap Part 1

We headed for Nashville immediately after the kids got of school on Wednesday. Hallie already had a mouthful of snacks before we pulled out of the drive way.

We stopped in Conway to eat at David’s Burgers. This has become our tradition when traveling south. Hallie insisted on having her picture taken with our number. Her eyes were closed in every single pic.

We made it to our stop in Memphis around 9:00. Hotels really shouldn’t put the microwave at a toddler’s level.

The next morning, we had breakfast in the hotel and hit the road for the remaining drive. How did anyone ever travel without electronics?!?!

Hallie is not a good traveler. She hates staying in her seat for that long, and she absolutely WILL NOT EVER fall asleep in the car. She gets a little better with each trip and as she gets older. The ipad and DVD player definitely help us from losing our sanity. Oh, and also large bags of turkey, as she calls it.

We arrived at the hubby’s parents around noon. We got settled in and had some lunch. The rest of the day was spent lounging around and playing outside, riding bikes, and bouncing on the pogo stick. Bryson became quite the pogo expert. He got up to over 100 bounces at one time.

Friday Five Favorites

TGIF!!  This week has been busy.  We've had something to do every night between school and church.  I'm ready to sit on the coach and relax.

Today I'm linking up with AndreaErica, and Narci and sharing some of my favs from this week.

Also, linking up with darci, april, christina and natasha for 5 on Friday.

ONE

I was told by my bosses that starting at the beginning of the year we will have off on Fridays with no change in pay.  So, I'll be working less hours, but taking home the same money.  And on top of that, we will be receiving a bonus from the sale of one of the businesses.  I say frequently that I am blessed and highly favored.  This is just one of many, many examples.   I truly believe that we are blessed and highly favored because we believe and practice tithing.

TWO

I have really been enjoying some of our Halloween decorations.

Sign - TJ Maxx
Broom - Target
Picture frame - Ross

THREE

I can't believe I actually got a North Face coat for $29.99 (no longer on sale).  I ordered one for my niece for Christmas.  I was skeptical about the price.  I thought for sure I'd get an email saying that the price was incorrect and that I had been refunded.  But NO!!!  I actually received the coat today.  I'm super excited to give it to my niece! #thecoolaunt

 FOUR

I revealed my Fall Swag Swap this week.  I've been enjoying burning this perfect fall candle.

 FIVE

I love "the J Crew vest".  However, my pocket book didn't quite agree with my heart.  I found an awesome look alike for a fraction of the cost.  The vest can be preordered at Tara Lynn's boutique for $49.99.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Happy Friday!!

Fall Swag Swap

About a month ago, I signed up to participate in a Fall Swag hosted by the girls over at Homemade Happenings, Camo and Lipstick, Macke Monologues, and Beauties & The Baseball Coach.  I was paired up with Stacey who blogs over at Grief Bacon.

I really enjoyed getting to know Stacey.  Her workout and food posts have been great motivation for me.  We both are trying to lose weight, and it's nice to know someone else has the same struggles I do #thestruggleisreal.  And even though we don't share the same love for coffee, we have lots of things in common.  We both use our lunch breaks to get our workouts in.  We both aren't fans of seafood or vegetables.  We both go days without shampooing our hair.  Ok, normal I probably wouldn't share that about someone else, but she did blog about it :) I'm looking forward to keeping in touch with Stacey and finding out what else we have in common.

Stacey knocked it out of the park on my fall swag.  She sent some AMAZING stuff!

I received a thick, soft infinity scarf.  Can't wait for cooler weather so I can wrap this around my neck.

I received a razorback bag.  I had to laugh when I saw this.  I was wondering if Stacey had ESP and could see me carrying all my stuff into work in Walmart sacks.  One sack for lunch, one sack for gym clothes, and usually another sack for something else.  This bag is now designated the gym clothes bag.

Stacey also included everything needed to make smores.  She knew that making smores was on our fall bucket list.  I love that we have everything ready for when we decide to make them.  Thanks for saving me a grocery trip, Stacey!

I also received an Apple Pumpkin Yankee candle.  Oh my goodness!  Everyone needs one of these.  It's fall wrapped up in a glass jar.

Stacey also included some protein powder.  I have been wanting to try some protein powder for a long time.  I've just been too chicken.  So far, I've just been adding it to my oatmeal in the mornings.  Almond milk will be next, thanks to Stacy's suggestion.  I'm really glad Stacey sent the protein powder.  I know that it will be a regular part of my diet now, and I probably would have never bought it on my own.

I had a blast participating in this Fall Swag Swap.  And while I absolutely LOVE everything I received,  getting to know Stacey and gaining a friend was even better.

Friday Five Favorites

It's been over a week since I've blogged.  We went to Nashville last week, which I still need to recap.  I came back to work Monday to a mound of work.  I am finally feeling like I'm able to breathe.  TGIF!!

Today I'm linking up with AndreaErica, and Narci and sharing some of my favs from this week.

Also, linking up with darci, april, christina and natasha for 5 on Friday.

ONE

We have family pictures next week.  I've started pulling together options.  This is what I have so far.  I'm not quite sure this is the direction I want to go.  Why do family picture outfits have to be so stressful???  I'm sure a majority of this weekend will be spent trying to find something for the boys.

TWO

Speaking of pictures, anyone remember Glamour Shots?  I think I was around 12 when I did Glamour Shots, and I'm sure I had more makeup on than any 12 year old should have.  My grandma passed away a few months ago.  My mom has been cleaning out her house.  Bryson found this Glamour Shot picture of me at my grandma's house.  He asked my mom if he could have it.  He set it on his desk in his bedroom.  How sweet!!!

THREE
Hallie stayed the night with Nana and Papa on Sunday night.  Papa had some cows to sell and took Hallie to the sale with him.  He fixed Hallie's hair and sent me a picture.  He was so proud of his braid.  I didn't have the heart to tell him she looked like a hobo.  I'll give him an A for effort.  He's such a good Papa!!

FOUR

Hallie wore her first Halloween outfit this week.  She loves her $1 Target cat ears.

FIVE

How fun are these Halloween Cheetos?!?!  I'm saving them for a Halloween themed dinner that I will surprise the kids with soon.  I'm thinking Halloween dinner followed by my favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus.

BONUS

During our travel time last week, I finally read Gone Girl.  The hubby and I have a tentative date night this weekend to see the movie.  I don't get to read much, but I sure do enjoy it when I do.

Happy Friday!  Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!!
