Hallie's Frozen Birthday Party

Since the beginning of the year, we pretty much knew Frozen would be the theme for Hallie’s 3^rd birthday party.  Like many little girls, she is Frozen obsessed.  Birthday planning is always fun.  I will admit…I am not creative or crafty at all.  Most of my ideas come from Pinterest.  How did I ever live without Pinterest!!!  And, I seriously could not have done it without my mom.  She always helps in bringing together all my ideas.  Oh, and I'm disappointed in my pictures.  With trying to keep up with everything, I didn't get all the pictures I wanted.  I also used a different camera than normal, and the quality just wasn't that great.  Maybe I should outsource that next time :)     

Decorations

The background

The wall that the food table was against is brick.  We started by covering the brick wall with white plastic tablecloths I bought from the Dollar Tree.  Then, we used 2 strands of icicles lights.  Next, we added iridescent door fringe covers.  It took 3 to cover the length.  I bought these from Walmart.  Last, we added some mesh garland around the top.  I bought the garland from Hobby Lobby in the Christmas section.  It's not the typical mesh garland.  It wasn't as firm. 

The food table 

We covered the food table with fabric from Hobby Lobby.  We also used another mesh garland as a runner.  Behind the cake, is a tree arrangement my mom made using spray painted sticks and Christmas ornaments.  The inspiration came from here.  We placed a cute tissue garland on the front of the table.  The garland was purchased from this Etsy shop.  I would definitely order from this shop again.  Customer service was great and crazy fast turn around.

Food

All the food served was related to the movie in same way.  Each food item had a tent card that I purchased from 2PartyPrintables.

I also purchased these cupcake toppers and used in the sandwiches, but I didn't get a picture.  

The cake was made by a local bakery.  They have made our birthday cake for the past several years.  Not only do they look amazing, but they have the best cakes I have ever tasted.  

I purchased this candle from Etsy.  Unfortunatley, it showed up the day after the party.

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday night was the BIG night, the night where several weeks of planning finally came together.  Baby girl had her 3^rdbirthday party. 

Saturday was spent relaxing and recovering from the party.  We had a storm come through and lost electricity.  During that time, Bryson and I played Spot It and had staring contests.  He was cracking me up.

We went out to eat with my parents and neighbors.  We went back to their house to play aggravation.  Sis and I enjoyed some ice cream while everyone else had watermelon and cantaloupe.

Sunday, after church and lunch we headed to Hallie’s preschool open house.  She’s going to be a Busy Bee this year.  She looks way too grown up in this pic :(

At the open house, they had an ice cream social.  It was so hot and humid; the ice cream quickly became liquid, but that didn’t stop the kids from eating it.

The kids had fun making pizza for dinner. 

This week is going to be busy with Hallie going back to school and getting Bryson ready to start on Monday.  Where did summer go?!?!

Weekend Recap

Friday evening, Hallie and I went out for a little date.  We went to the nail salon.  She was super excited.  She picked blue for her toes and purple and pink for her fingers.

Saturday morning, I got Hallie's invitations printed.  Also, the aquaballs I ordered for her party arrived. Things are slowly coming together for the birthday celebration.

We also headed to Toys R Us for her to pick out some toys she wants for her birthday.  Of course, half of the stuff she picked out was play doh, and the other half was princess items. 

We came home and did a little swimming.  After swimming, Hallie went down for a nap.  I used that opportunity to do my jamberry 7 day challenge.  

Saturday evening, Hallie stayed with nana while we took Bryson school shopping for shoes.  We decided we needed a massage after all the shopping.  Bryson thought the chair was great!

While at the mall, we stopped at the Hallmark store to reserve an Elsa ornament for Hallie.  Every year we get the kids an ornament that relates to something they did or liked during the year.  

Sunday morning, we headed to church and then our favorite Mexican resturant.  

The remaining day was spent doing choirs and errands to prepare for the upcoming week.

Friday Five

Woohoo!!  It's finally Friday.  Here are some my favorites from this week.

ONE I'm in full birthday planning mode.  Hallie's birthday party is in a couple of weeks.  The birthday girl wants a frozen party, so that's what she's getting.  I am so excited to have booked Anna and Elsa for a visit during the party.  I can't wait to see her face.  These lovely ladies are from Once Upon a Party NWA.

TWO And with the upcoming birthday means the binky fairy is coming for a visit.  We decided that 3 years old was our cutoff for the binky.  Hallie mainly uses it at night, nap time, and in the car (because driving is annoying enough without a crying, whiny toddler).  I'm praying that this will be an easy transition.  I did cold turkey with Bryson when he turned three.  He surprising did better than I thought he would.  But he is a lot more laid back than his stubborn, strong willed sister.

 

THREE Bryson and I have started a notebook where we write letters and questions to each other.  One of the questions I recently asked was what is the one thing you couldn't live without.  His response was God.  Melts my heart.  Some times I question my mothering skills and think of all the things I need to improve.  But it's moments like this that let me know I am doing something right.  Oh, and sister got a hold of the notebook and scribbled all over it. 

FOUR I have been wanting some new tennis shoes lately.  And quite frankly, I think I deserve them for all the hard work I've been putting in at the gym.  When Sheaffer posted these shoes, I knew they were "the ones".  I cannot wait to get them!!!

 FIVE I giggled when I saw this.  Yep, this is me.  Well, expect maybe I've owned over 2 million.
