July 4th weekend recap

My weekend started on Friday thanks to an extra day off from the bosses.  I spent the whole day running baby errands….taking stuff back, buying needed stuff, looking for a coming home outfit, looking for hospital pajamas, etc.  I couldn’t believe how many people were out and about.  I thought it was going to be sooo nice to go out and get things done while everybody else was at work.  Well apparently everybody else was off Friday too.  It was a very long and HOT day, but at least I got a few things accomplished.
Saturday morning, David and I went out to buy fireworks.  When we got home, he worked on the yard, and I worked on the nursery.  I finally got the bedding on the bed, and David put the little bird knobs on the dresser.  I love the way it’s coming together.  The pics aren't the best quality....taken from my phone.  Later that evening, we went to Chili’s with Sarah and her kids.

Sunday morning we went to church.  I picked up Bryson from his dad in the afternoon.  David’s friends came over in the evening, and we enjoyed a firework show.  The highlight of my day is when Bryson found my sunglasses down in the recliner.  They were missing for a week.  I was pretty sure they were long gone.  Since I have to wear my glasses due to this pregnancy, I can only wear sunglasses that will cover up my glasses.  So, I was super excited when Bryson found the sunglasses that fit nicely over my glasses.

MY GLASSES!!!!

We decided to take Monday, July 4th easy.  We were pretty lazy and didn’t do much.  But that’s ok because those days will be far and few between when the baby arrives.  Bryson lit a few fireworks at night time.  I let him light them by himself……under close supervision, of course.  He is growing up way too fast L

Doctor Appointment

I had an appointment today.  Just the routine visit….weighing and measuring.  Doctor said I was on track with everything.  Now I start going to the doctor every two weeks instead of monthly.  This kind of stresses me out because it’s my reminder that time is running out and I still have so much to do.  I told the doctor about me not being able to wear my contacts anymore.  He said that was normal and should go back to normal after the baby is born.  I sure hope so cause I hate wearing glasses and especially in the summer.  I mean how stupid do I look with sunglasses on over my glasses?!?!  He asked if I had any carpal tunnel syndromes symptoms.  So far, I haven’t.  He said most women that can’t wear there contacts anymore start having carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms.  Hmmm….interesting.  Wonder what the connection is.  I also told him how I’ve started having restless legs.  He said he could give me medicine for it, but I don’t feel like it’s too that point yet.  I got to hear the baby’s heartbeat again.  And that pretty much sums up the doctor visit.

Weekend Recap

My oldest niece, Haleigh, graduated Saturday night.  We spent Friday evening and Saturday morning getting the house and decorations in order for her graduation party.  It’s hard to believe she is graduating. Where has the time gone?  I can remember watching her as a baby at night time while my brother worked.  We watched Barney every night on the VCR.  I can still remember some songs and movements to those songs…..”Do Your Ears Hang Low” and “John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt”.  I can remember her obsession (and I mean OBSESSION) with Brittney Spears.  Good thing that was just a phase.  I can remember the camping trip when she had a bike wreck that sent her to the hospital to get stitches.  And mom about killing herself trying to drive a moped to get to where Haleigh wrecked.  The following weekend we went to Branson and had to be extra careful not to get her stitches wet at the indoor waterpark.  I remember spending many weekends entertaining her at Ally’s Jungle Gym, McDonald’s Play Place, or the movies.  She has turned into a beautiful young lady, and I can’t wait to see what her future holds.

Her school colors are green and yellow, but for some reason she wanted purple and silver.

Mmm....love me some Paul's Bakery (Once referred to by Bryson as the place with the fat woman sign.  The sign is actually of a baker.)

She wasn't too crazy about putting this headband on, but we made her :)

Moi with the graduate

Not for sure what this look was about, but I've seen it several times.

After church on Sunday, we ate at Marketplace.  I’ve been craving me some Marketplace lately.  Not normally a place I crave, but a baby will do weird things to ya.  After lunch, we worked on cleaning out the baby room.  We made progress, but still have a long way to go.  I’m dedicating the next few weekends to the baby room, so maybe it will be done before she arrives.  The bedding should be arriving in the next couple of weeks, and I’m super excited to see it.

Good Friday

It definitely has been a good friday.  David and I attended the school Easter egg hunt.  Bryson did a great job.  Apparently, they told the kids to get just twelve eggs.  I had no idea about the egg limit.  Bryson stopped after getting twelve eggs, but I didn't see any other kids stop.  I was acting like the crazy parent yelling at Bryson....what are you doing....why are you stopping.  Later, I learned about the egg limit.  So, proud of my boy for not being greedy.

The rest of the day, David and I looked for a vehicle for him.  And praise the Lord....he finally found a vehicle.  I know this is a huge weight off of his shoulders.  God is good....and not only on Good Friday.

Baby Stuff & Easter Eggs

My boss let everyone off early today.  So, on the way home I decided to stop at a consignment shop that is normally closed when I get off.  And I scored big.  I found a matching carseat and stroller for the baby.  I had seen this set online.  But the online pictures just don't do it justice.  It's cuter in person, and the material is so soft.  And the best part....I got it for about a fourth of the price, and it's in great condition.  Just one more thing I can cross off of the baby list.

We colored eggs later that night.  Bryson always colors eggs in his underwear.  I'd rather him get color on his skin than his clothes.  I hate having to pretreat clothes or shout out clothes.  So, if I have an opportunity to avoid that, then I'll take it.  I just wonder how old is too old to be coloring eggs in your underwear??

Brutally Honest

I went to lay in bed with Bryson before bedtime to read some books.  As I was laying down, he said....Mommy, this bed is going to break because your getting fat.  I said...I'm not getting fat, I'm getting pregnick (that's the way he says it).
